The Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway has a total length of 105.5 km with the starting point located on Vanh Dai 3 road of Hanoi (1.025 km from the Thanh Tri bridge in Thach Ban ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi), passes through many provinces and cities, such as: Hanoi (6km), Hung Yen (26.5km), Hai Duong (40km), Hai Phong (33km). The end point of the road is Dinh Vu dam (in Hai An district, Hai Phong).

The road is designed in compliance with the class A standards of highway, has 6 different level interchanges at the intersections with highway. The route has 9 large bridges, 21 medium bridges, 22 overpasses with a total bridge length of about 11km. Besides, it also has 124 underground sewers and overpasses for people’s lives.

Designed car speed reaches 120km/h. The average cross-section is 100 m, the road surface is 33m-wide with 6 lanes, 2 emergency stop lanes, median strip, green strips on both sides of the road, and frontage roads at necessary locations.

Intelligent traffic control system; automatic, closed toll plaza system; modern and smooth transport organization; and camera system installed to control and record images. Besides, the route also has service stations, gasoline supply equipment, and other small repairs services. Total investment capital is 24.566 billion VND.
