The bridge over the Day River connects the two provinces of Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh and is part of the Ninh Binh – Nam Dinh – Thai Binh – Hai Phong expressway. The main route has a total length of approximately 2 km, accommodates 4 lanes, and has a design speed of 100 km/h. The project has a total investment of nearly VND 1,500 billion.

When operational, the Day River bridge, part of the Ninh Binh – Nam Dinh – Thai Binh – Hai Phong expressway, will aim to connect important transportation routes in Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces. It will gradually complete the Ninh Binh – Hai Phong expressway, enhance regional and inter-regional connectivity in the Red River Delta area, reduce the load on the existing transportation system, shorten the distance and travel time for commuters, and create a driving force for socio-economic development.
