Đường cao tốc Hà Nội – Lào Cai

The Hanoi – Lao Cai expressway is 265 km long, with the starting point being the intersection between II highway and the North Thang Long – Noi Bai expressway (Hanoi), while the ending point is Quang Kim commune (Bat Xat district, Laos province). This highway is a part of the Asian Highway 14.
Most of the highway will go along the banks of the Red River. This route passes through 5 provinces and cities, including: Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Yen Bai and Lao Cai. Besides, it is also connected to China’s Kunming – Hekou expressway and is a component of the transport infrastructure development project of the Kunming – Hanoi – Hai Phong Economic Corridor.
This project is built in compliance with A standards of highway. The section from Hanoi to Yen Bai has 4 lanes, 2 emergency stop lanes with a designed speed of 100km/h. Meanwhile, the section from Yen Bai to Lao Cai has 2 lanes, 2 emergency stopping lanes and designed speed of 80 km/h.
With a total investment of more than 1.46 billion USD, the investment rate of the project is only about 6 million USD/km of highway
